We never settle for subpar quality and constantly seek new ways to improve our products. We set the industry standard for extract consistency, purity, and flavor through our proprietary extraction processes. Northern Standard cannabis oils are extracted from single strain, single-batch organically grown cannabis, and contain only native terpenes. Unlike most competing brands of cannabis oil on the market today, we use no toxic solvents, foreign terpenes, synthetic flavorings, propylene glycol or other additives of any kind in our production process.

By carefully concentrating the plant’s natural cannabinoids and native terpenes, we give you an experience like no other. Why native cannabis terpenes?
There are hundreds of unidentified terpene varieties present in every strain of cannabis plant that are not detected in terpene profile tests. Cannabis testing facilities will normally test for 32 or fewer terpenes, leaving hundreds undetected.
Industrial terpene suppliers use terpenes purchased in plastic jugs (sometimes referred to as ‘botanical terpenes’, intended for use as industrial solvents) to formulate “strains” based on the most prominent terpenes revealed in profile tests, leaving hundreds unrepresented.
Many cannabis companies use these terpenes to flavor their oil. This result is a very poor facsimile of the intended strain because it contains only a tiny fraction of the hundreds of natural native terpenes that are actually present in the cannabis plant.
Northern Standard doesn’t do “facsimile strains”. We painstakingly preserve the native terpenes present in the cannabis plant throughout the extraction process. It’s certainly more costly and time consuming to do this, but we believe it’s worth the time and effort.

Northern Standard harkens back to an earlier era when products were built to stand the test of time. Great cannabis shouldn’t come in cheap plastic. All of our cartridges are packaged in high quality metal tins, our cartridges are made with ultradurable pyrex and feature wooden tips.
Our company is founded on the same resilient pioneering spirit of the artisanal miners, craftsmen and tradesmen who in 1873 founded Alma – one of only six surviving communities of the estimated 46 that were formed in Park County during the 1800s Colorado gold and silver rushes.
Northern Standard draws inspiration from the dense national forests that surround us, containing two-thousand year old Bristlecone pines, geothermal hot springs, some of our nation’s tallest mountains, and many historical mining and mill sites that are gracefully fading back into their environment.
Very little of the mining activity that shaped Alma and Park County remains today. Northern Standard is proud to contribute to the local economy by engaging in a new, greener industry based on an eco-friendly, renewable resource.
